LEARNING JOURNEY TO ESPLANADE PARK

Last Friday we went to Marina Bay again. But the difference was, on that day,  the weather was pretty sweet. As you can see in the picture, the cotton-liked clouds spread over the clear and blue sky. The sun was shining, making the whole sight brightly. Even though we were a little hot, but it was an excelent time to take photos, isn't it?

The Esplanade, theatre by the bay, is just like a big durian. It was shame that we couldtas not get into it to have a look, but even just looked at the exterior, we got such an aesthetic feeling to its new and original designs. By the way, the durians in Singapore is extremely delicious, as well as the durian ice cream, whose savoury taste is unforgettable.

The most famous three landmarks of Singapore: the lotus-liked ArtScience Museum, the Merlion, the Marina Bay Sands. What a magnificent scenery.

I tried different savours of ice cream. But I strongly dislike peppermint because of the strong toothpaste's smelling and tasting.

There were the  Victoria Theatre and the Statue of Sir Stamford Raffles. The Statue of Sir Stamford Raffles stands on a foundation bed, which makes him extremely tall, we had to raise our head to look at him with reverence. The tablet says :"1819-1919, this tablet to the memory of Sir Stamford Raffles, to whose foresight and genius Singapore owes its existence and prosperity, was unveiled on February 6th 1919 the 100th anniversary of the foundation of the settlement"

Standing below the statue, I felt like standing below the highest point in Singapore, which is much high than any other skyscrapers near there. At the same time, a sense of completely awe and esteem came to my heart, too strong to disappear.

the Victoria Theatre and Concert Hall.

The Cavenagh Bridge is the only suspension bridge and one of the oldest bridge in Singapore, which was built in 1868, over the Singapore River. It was named for commenmorating  the last India-appointed Governor of the Straits Settlement. Now the bridge is a pedestrian bridge.

learning journey to east coast

Learning journey of East Coast Singapore

Last Friday, we went to the east coast. It is in the east of Singapore, and it is really a long way from our hostel to the sea. It was cloudy in the morning, however just exactly at the time when we set off, all the grey clouds dispersed, and the azure heaven show us her unspotted and pure face to us again. The sunshine spread its golden light over the city, the streets, the roof and the water drops on the grass. The humid and frowsty air evaporated, we greedily breathe the crisp and freash air. After arriving the East coast, it has been fairly hot, the smell of the sea attracted us.

The sea is beautiful, the blue water waving in the wind, shimmering in the sunlight. There are many ship in the remote, indicating us that Singapore is one of the busiest port in the world, the coming and going ships are the impulse of Singapore’s economy.

To be honest, the sea landscape is not as beautiful as the sea in my hometown, Quanzhou. But It has its own beauty as well.

On the bridge, we took some photos – Siting, Hongyu and Xianxi jumped up and took photos, but I did not do it. I do not know why, I just do not want to.

Then, it has been late in the afternoon, we went to the East Coast Sea Food Center and tried Satay and Rojak. Both of them are traditional Singaporean local food, the taste is much different from Chinese food, and is very delicious and month-watering. It is a shame that we did not try every delicacy in the food center. Maybe I will go there once again!
